FLOCCULATION

The aggregation of pigment particles in the ink to form clusters or chains of “flocks”. Though somewhat rare, flocculation can result in a loss of transfer, gloss, and color strength, as well as a shift in the hue of the printed ink. Proper grinding (milling) of the ink during manufacturing should prevent flocculation.
