COMPLEXING SOLUTION

A fountain solution additive that offsets the negative effects of calcium buildup in the dampening system (stripes, blinding, roller stripping, toning, Etc.). Complexing Solution is a chemical water softener that bonds with calcium ions, preventing them from bonding to litho plates, rollers, or other system components. Complexing Solution isn’t a substitute for good roller and dampening system maintenance, but it can buy you some time. A product of Graphic Ink Co. See also “calcium wash”.
