PLASTICS

Printing on plastics can be tricky business due to the many types of plastics available, and the variations within each type. Some variations will not accept litho printing. Risk factors can include slow ink drying, poor adhesion, static charge, reticulation, emulsification, and blinding. In most cases inks must be specially formulated for plastics. Corona Treatment is very effective, but pretesting ink on substrate is always advised. Graphic Ink Company provides pretesting. See also: “Corona Treatment” and “Dyne”.
