LETTERPRESS

A printing process that pre-dates litho, where a raised image on an etched plate is inked and pressed onto the substrate to produce the print. Litho inks are not generally recommended for letterpress printing. Today most letter presses are used for sequentially numbering tickets or business forms, die cutting, or for hot-stamping foils to a sheet.
