CONDUCTIVITY

Refers to the ability of a substance like water to conduct electricity. Measured in micromhos, conductivity increases with the amount of electrolytes (dissolved solids) in the water, which makes conductivity a great way to dose and monitor fountain solutions. Pure distilled water is non-conductive (0 micromhos), while tap water can range from 100 to as high as 1500 micromhos in some places. See also “micromhos” & “RO water”.
